Since completing her studies in 1986 Maria has consistently developed and exhibited her Fine Art work. Maria now has a body of work for exhibition and sale at her studio. Her work is represented in both private and public collections here and abroad.

Maria’s themes constantly return to the human form, the landscape, music and movement. Her work is concerned with connecting the observable world of people and nature with her inner world of feelings and imagination. She is a sensual explorer of line, image and colour, a conductor of energy. The conversation is between what she sees, how she feels about what she sees and the materials she uses. The resulting image is a carrier of that energy.

Maria uses a wide variety of materials and mediums to express her ideas but sees drawing as a central practise. She views all her activities as aspects of drawing.
Her combination of observational drawing and expressive mark making in response to a stimulus, combine in a uniquely personal way, to convey the emotional quality of the subject.

Her work is often made as a result of collaboration with other art forms: dance, music, theatre, but exists in its own right as completed images.

Prices range from £80 for a print or small drawing to £2000 for a large painting.
